Respond Website

Carol Service

Thanks to all of you who joined us for our first Carol Service on 8 December at St Pancras Old Church. A lovely evening was had by all and our very heartfelt thanks to our wonderful Readers who read the six lessons of the Christmas Story: Jenieve Knowles, Harry Cassell, June Patterson, Philip Cadiz, Rosie Creer and Celia Kent. Our great thanks to Greggs for their donation of mince pies, and to the team at the church, the choir and organist, who made it all an effortless pleasure.  And finally, a huge thanks to those of you who gave so generously and donated nearly £300 in donations to the work of Respond.

Mozart Requiem

Friday 11th November, St Bartholomew the Great, City of London

It was with the greatest of pleasure that we announced that the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London was supporting Respond as a charity partner with a performance of Mozart Requiem on Friday 11th November.

This extraordinary music was enjoyed at this special Remembrance Day concert conducted by Robert Porter, Brandenburg Artistic Director, with the Brandenburg Sinfonia and Brandenburg Festival Chorus. The Requiem was performed in the exquisite setting of St Bartholomew the Great in the City of London. The church has been the star of many well known films including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love, Sherlock Holmes and The End of the Affair.  It truly is a beautiful space.

Well Done Harry!

Harry Cassell ran the Virgin London Marathon in 4 hours and 15 minutes on 24 April 2016. Respond is very proud and fortunate to have Harry undertake this major sporting challenge in support of our charity

Noelle, our CEO, says ‘I am delighted that Harry chose to bring his time, energy and commitment to Respond, and it is an extraordinary achievement to finish the marathon. He is making great progress with fundraising and we wish him the best of luck in realising his final target of £2,500.’
It means a great deal to Respond as a niche, specialist charity working with very vulnerable people, that we have people like Harry supporting our work to achieve the best for our clients every day.

Enjoy the photos of Harry in action and celebrating with family and friends after the race!

Spem in Alium

Respond was delighted to host a concert celebrating our 25th anniversary in association with the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London at St Martin-in-the-Fields on 7 April 2016.

This beautiful concert of Spem in alium was performed by the Epiphoni Consort and conducted by Tim Reader to a full house including 80 of our guests.

Our CEO, Dr Noelle Blackman, spoke about Respond and the difference we seek to make to lives of people with learning disabilities or autism, and introduced our charity to a whole new audience.

Thanks to all of you who generously supported the concert and shared such a memorable evening with us. The event raised an amazing £1,000 for Respond.
