Respond Therapist Database

Respond holds the details of therapists around the country who have shown an interest in or had experience of working with people with learning disabilities who have experienced abuse and trauma.

At the point of registering with us we ask for proof of accreditation with the BACP, UKCP or other registered bodies, OR evidence of having completed a training that comprised of 450 hours counselling training and at least 450 hours of supervised counselling practice, OR evidence of ten years experience in therapeutic work with people with learning disabilities.

Although we aim to provide a valuable service of quality we are unable to take responsibility for any complaints, or dissatisfaction that may arise out of contacting a practitioner on our database. However, we do recommend certain guidelines to follow to ensure that you feel comfortable with the therapist you are planning to see.

You can access this list or register with us by calling the Respond Helpline on 0808 808 0700.
